Speech and sign should go together but may not flow at the same pace therefore words can be omitted. About 1-year-old children are missing sounds for other languages, but have only tuned into their language relative sounds. Child directed talk is when adults change speech patterns to "talk" to children. How I plan to use it: Paraphrase
